THE WINE STORY FROM A FAMILY TRADITION
Fabio: The Wine represents the blood of God, of Jesus Christ. I was born in the vineyard with my grandfather who left us, he passed away in 1987. My family has been working in this industry since the 1900s. My grandfather has always produced Wine, but when he died my dad and his brothers didn’t continue with the wine production for a while since they got involved with other businesses, so there was no continuity with the production of Wine from the family. Thanks to God and the football that has given me the economic strength to think about the wine project again. In 2005 I started the football and the Wine again my two greatest passions, after my family of course.
I was born in the vineyard, in the summer; therefore, I am very familiar with this environment. As the other kids in the neighborhood went to the beach to play in the water, I would go to the vineyard with my grandfather to work with him. I learned everything from my grandfather and my dad, my dad also learned from grandpa. Since little the vineyard for me was not a job, it has always been a passion, a hobby, something that I really enjoy doing with all my heart. I loved being in the vineyard with my grandparents, so that was what I did in the summer when a kid. My grandfather paid me a salary, and for me, that meant a lot; to have a little money as a child and be able to buy toys to play with the kids or even buy candies.
So many people ask me, how do you define yourself? Well, my answer is, I define myself as a dreamer as a man in love with my family in an unconditional way. I define myself as a man with a great vision but that believes that we win together as a team, as a family. Even Though they took me out of the football world as a soccer player and a few times as a team director, not because I wanted it but because of other people’s will. However, I learned that no one could stop a dreamer. If you have a dream, fight until you get it. I will never be able to silence what happened to me in that unfortunate surgery room; it was a hard pill to swallow, I had to handle it. That incident changed my life forever, not for the worse but for a good reason, because it has given me a little more strength to try to achieve even greater things that someone else tried to prevent me from accomplishing.
Despite the circumstances, I have not only changed my life for the better, but I have also been able to change the lives of so many players. I would say that because I bought over 40 players that I bought for little and sold for hundreds of thousands and even millions. Players that are eternally thankful to me today.
All that I have done in my life has been because I faced a problem as big as a physical disability, which mentally, I think can kill 90 out of 100 people around us in our World. However, the remaining ten that can fight and believe in their dreams are the ones who will win in life. This type of mindset is what differentiates the winners from the losers. It has been the thing that has helped me do what I do today by myself, through my potential, without asking anyone for help, not that I don’t need other peoples’ help, I am well aware that no one achieves success on their own. However, when things get tough, and situations get difficult, it is up to us individually to stand up and to do something to change our circumstances. If we don’t stand up for ourselves, no one will do it for us. If we don’t believe in ourselves, the World won’t believe in us. It took me a surgery to learn this, to understand that we are responsible for our destiny, that we are in charge of our lives, and to have a success story, we first have to become our own success story. The ups and downs in life help us to build our character, enables us to evolve as humans. On top of that, our ability to look beyond our problems helps us to become men and women of great value in life.
