Wine has always been more than a beverage to me. When I was named Sommelier of the Year Mexico 2023 by CANIRAC & CMV, I knew something had changed. It was not only a recognition of my career, but a confirmation that hard work, passion, and perseverance can open doors in a sector where women struggle for visibility. For over 25 years, I have worked in the Food and Beverage industry, facing the challenges of making my way in a sector where, until recently, female leadership was scarce. I began my journey with curiosity and enthusiasm, but quickly realized that more needed to be done. We had to challenge structures, change paradigms, and show that women not only have a place in this industry but can lead it. So my work began to go beyond curating menus or advising restaurants. I began transforming hospitality, boosting the industry's profitability, and, above all, seeing wine as a viable and exciting career. It's not just about selling more, it's about elevating the experience, creating connections, and making every glass tell a story.
