Brigitte Jean Jean
I grew up on the plateau of Aumelas, 20 minutes west of Montpellier, in the historic property of Vignobles Jeanjean, Château Valoussière.
Like Obélix, I fell into it when I was little. In this nature as far as the eye can see, in this peasant world which cultivates not only the land, but values which are mine, in this omnipresent wine-growing countryside in our beautiful Languedoc, in the south of France, and above all, I have always been close to the men and women who make wine, who distribute it and who appreciate it. During the harvest, in the cellar, on tour with my father in the center of France, with customers around a barbecue at Château Valoussière, under the chestnut trees.
In this happy youth, I learned not only to love the vine and the wine trades, the generous but fragile nature, but above all, I learned respect for the men and women who are behind each bottle of wine.
Since then I have grown up, but these values are there forever.
This love of nature, I first put it into practice in my first professional experience in Quebec, when I worked with René Metge and the Harricana team. It was during this period that I fell in love with Quebec, my 2nd province, which always welcomes me with open arms when I talk about my wines, especially my rosé le Pive, the best-selling rosé in Quebec!
Then I worked in the family business, Jeanjean, which has just celebrated its 150th anniversary.
I represent the 6th generation, but I learned the trade from an early age, accompanying my father and my uncle, but then working in export, then in marketing.
Today, I am based in St Félix de Lodez, at the company's headquarters, where it all began in 1872, I still live at Château Valoussière.
Within the company, I manage the Vignobles Jeanjean, made up of 9 estates, all grown organically.
Indeed, protecting nature, promoting the development of biodiversity and watching over the men and women who work the vines have always been part of my priorities.
Times have certainly changed, but I still have the chance to be able to live on a daily basis next to my cellar, in the middle of the vines, to be able to participate during the harvest in some work in the vineyard or in the cellar, to taste the wine, to participate blending with my team to ensure that we offer the best quality/pleasure ratio to our consumers!
